Artec
Leo
The wireless, AI-powered handheld 3D scanner. Full-color , metrology-grade capture with everything on board — supplied, trained and supported by Light form Solutions.
The most versatile
scanner of all time
With no power or PC connection needed, the ability to operate in sunlight, unmatched speed, par excellence tracking, and a broad resolution range, LIGHTFORM’s vote for the most versatile scanner of all time could only go to the Leo.
Targetless Tracking
The Leo is able to track both geometric features and photographic features, eliminating the need for traditional targets and the often-exorbitant times associated with applying and removing them. it also ensures that no color or texture is interrupted by targets.
Beautiful color
The Leo creates vivid, full color scans with best-in-class color quality. Unlike most color scanners, the purpose-built optics of the Leo collect geometry and color information through a single lens for the most accurate color mapping.
Unmatched Speed
With a generous footprint, adjustable frame rate, and purpose built computing, the Leo’s speed and tracking capability is second to none.
The Ultimate in Mobility
Fully Wireless, with integrated hot-swappable batteries, a 512 GB SSD, and a built-in LCD, the Leo allows for total freedom of movement.
HD Mode
HD Mode improves the Leo in a number of ways. It more than doubles the resolution, enabling it to capture smaller features. It reduces noise for cleaner results, and improves its ability to capture difficult surfaces and scan into recessed areas & tight spaces.
HD Mode is a great example of Artec’s customer-centric development model. It was released as a software version update after the Leo’s launch, and it turned the Leo into twice the scanner it was before. Entirely for free.
HD Mode is also a case study in how a well-designed scanner platform resists obsolescence. HD mode came some time after the original Leo was released and dramatically improved it without any changes to the hardware, much to the delight of its current owners. It demonstrates how optics currently on the market tend to have many years of untapped potential before the computer science catches up.

Leo is fully wireless and self-contained. It has its own onboard processor, battery, SSD, and touchscreen, so you can scan without a laptop, cables, or targets. It also captures vivid color and geometry through a single optical path.
-
No. Leo uses targetless tracking that follows geometry and texture together. This means no sticker placement, no cleanup, and no interruptions in your color data.
-
Leo delivers up to 0.05 mm 3D point accuracy and up to 0.2 mm 3D resolution, making it suitable for inspection, reverse engineering, and quality control.
-
Yes. Leo processes scans on the device itself using a built-in NVIDIA Jetson platform. You can view the model on the touchscreen, store data on the 500 GB SSD, and transfer it later via Wi-Fi, Ethernet, or SD card.
-
Leo is used across automotive, aerospace, heavy industry, forensics, healthcare, heritage, and more. Its portability and targetless workflow make it ideal for large objects and challenging environments.
