Artec
EVA
EVA is a full color handheld that scan without targets.
Versatile and robust
EVA is one of the most tried and true scanners ever on the market. With a broad resolution range, full color, and no need for targets, the EVA can satisfy an enormous number of applications and has a reputation for durability
HD Mode
HD Mode improves the EVA in a number of ways. It more than doubles the resolution, enabling it to capture smaller features. It also reduces noise for cleaner results, and dramatically improves its ability to capture difficult surfaces and scan into recessed areas & tight spaces
HD Mode is a great example of Artec’s customer-centric development model. It was released as a software version update and it turned the EVA into twice the scanner it was before. Entirely for free.
HD Mode is also a perfect case study in how well-designed scanners resist obsolescence. HD mode came along years after the EVA was released and dramatically improved it without any changes to the hardware, much to the delight of its current owners. It demonstrates how optics currently on the market tend to have many years of untapped potential before the computer science catches up.

FAQ
-
No. Eva requires neither targets nor calibration to get started. The scanner uses powerful hybrid geometry and texture tracking to capture the objects in 3D — even those with minimal features. Eva collects two sets of data by which to track and perform processing, which results in much easier, faster, and smoother 3D scanning, as well as faster 3D data processing in comparison to scanners that require targets for scanning.
-
Yes, EVA needs to be connected to a PC to capture data. For totally wireless scanning, consider the Artec Leo.
-
Yes, EVA uses white structured light technology, which is absolutely safe for scanning any living creature.
